This blog was born to fill the void of my last blog which didn’t really survive past Summer of 2008. (No idea really why.) However, the content in this blog usually covers all aspects of computer use and administration, whether Linux or <shudder> Windows. Also contained here is news and information about my server, as well as some general ramblings.
I retired from the Army in 1998 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and have worked at my present hospital as a Clinical Engineer since January 2000.
My hobbies include playing electric rhythm guitar and all aspects of Linux administration.
One notable achievement of mine was writing an ipchains (now iptables) firewall script for Linux that is fairly impervious to attack, taking into account many possible scenarios.
On the music side of the spectrum, I had a blast playing guitar at the last Jube Dog Reunion Jam held in September 2012, and I am looking forward to the next one. Hopefully, it will be even better!!
The best part of the night was the finale. We got our sound man, Merk, all liquored up and had him sing Sympathy for the Devil. He didn’t even really know the words, as you can tell by the lyrics in his right hand, lol.
If you would like to check out where I merged my computer and music hobbies together, just listen to CRAB’s stream for a bit. Request a few songs while you’re there….
